Andrea De Luca 1964 - 2019
With great saddness we have been informed
that our beloved colleague and ESAR
council member Professor Andrea de Luca died in a car accident.
Andrea was a professor in infectious Diseases at Sienna university. He was a bright medical doctor and a very dedicated integer clinical scientist. He advocated collaboration and was actively involved in multiple international projects and consortia. He was a gentleman who clearly communicated his vision with a great sense of respect for those with different opinions.
He was also an inspiring teacher and active supporter of young talent, but most importantly he was a charming and fun person to be with.
He will be genuinely missed.
